Programmes and content for young people at the Ashmolean Museum
The Ashmolean Museum is welcoming input from young people aged 16-24 in a series of new programmes. If you want to get involved, please do look at what we're offering and find out how to join in via the contact details below.
Our programmes are designed for people who are currently facing barriers to the Museum and art world. We are prioritising those who are at risk of, currently or previously have been not in education, employment or training.
No experience is needed to apply or get involved. Everyone is welcome to apply.
Our group of young Museum Makers have put together some pop-up tours exploring the history of gender in our collections. You'll get to explore 10 remarkable objects in the galleries.
Tours are on Mon 24 Jun & Tue 25 Jun at 1.30pm & 2.30pm
A group of young people were recruited to build up their skills, by joining the Museum Makers programme.
This programme is for those interested in learning more about the Museum behind-the-scenes about art history.
After being recruited in Feb 2024, the group are helping us to create and run a pop-up tour on the history of gender, interacting with Museum staff and learning about objects in the Ashmolean's collection.
Creatives
Creatives invites young people to participate in a series of workshops on making artwork in response to the Museum’s galleries and objects.
You'll be creating your own artwork in a chilled space to showcase in the Museum, and you'll get to know the work of different artists and mediums.
This application will operate on a rolling basis from February to June
